5 Prompts That Don’t Feel Like Posing
April 24, 2025How My Background in Film Influences My Style
Before I photographed weddings, I was writing scripts and directing short films. I also shot Nightclub Photography . One day I thought — why not marry the two (pun intended)? I had the eye for photography and the instinct for story.
What better story to tell than yours? On your wedding day, you are the main character. Your family and friends are the supporting cast. My role is to tell that story with honesty, intention, and care.
Directing the Moment
Film taught me that great scenes aren’t staged — they’re lived. I’ll read the room, guide you gently, and help you settle into the moment. That might mean a quiet pause… or a burst of laughter. Either way, it’s about capturing the day as you feel it.
When you're grounded, the magic happens. The nerves fade, the pressure lifts, and suddenly, you're just you. That’s where the real story lives.
Piecing the Story
Every wedding has a natural story arc. It’s not just beautiful photos strung together — it’s a film told in stills. There’s the quiet build-up in the morning, the electric energy before the vows, that heart-racing first look. Then come the hugs, the speeches, the dancing — the chaos, the calm, the kisses, the joy.
I think in themes: anticipation, connection, reflection. I’m chasing feelings. And when I edit, that’s when the colours, tones, and mood come together — and the magic clicks into place.
The Final Act
I get to tell your story in a way that’s true to you. I’m not following trends. I’m following emotion — whatever’s real in front of me.
When you look at your photos ten or twenty years from now, I want you to be transported — not just thinking “we looked good,” but feeling exactly how it felt.
When you book me, I don’t take it lightly. Your story is safe with me — and it will be Cinematic. Emotional. Intentional.
